Ian Anderson -Rock flutist, singer-songwriter from Sweden who's career exploded while he was a flutist with Jethro Tull (British Rock band). His original passion was the guitar, but he soon realized that he had no future in that, so he switched to the flute.
Julius Baker - orchestral flutist who held the position as the principal player with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the NY Philharmonic. He can also be heard on the film scores of "The Little Mermaid" "Beauty and the Beast" and "Love Stick." He was a teacher at the Juilliard School of Music, Cutis Institute of Music and Carnegie Mellon.
William Bennett - studied in London with Geoffrey Gilbert, and in France with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Marcel Moyse. He has also served as the principal flute player in the London Symphony, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and the English Chamber Orchestra. he is mostly known for his recordings of Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and other composers of the time, but he is also known for his performances and recordings of many 19th century works.
James Galway - Sir James Galway is a world-renowned Irish flutist. After studying formally for a number of years, Galway pursued a career as an orchestral flutist. In 1975, he embarked on a solo career. He earned the nickname "The Man with the Golden Flute" for his gleaming golden instrument and high-spirited performance style. He has been praised for his ability to blend classical, folk, and popular music.

Hubert Laws - American flutist and saxophonist with a career spanning over 40 years in jazz, classical, and other music genres. Alongside Herbie Mann, Laws is probably the most recognized and respected jazz flutist. Laws is one of the few classical artists who has also mastered jazz, pop, and rhythm-and-blues genres, moving effortlessly from one repertory to another.
Chris Norman - Born in Halifax Nova Scotia, Chris began his formal musical studies at the age of ten. His interest in the traditional music of Maritime Canada; Scottish, Irish and French Canadian Styles, drew him from his early path studying classical flute. Chris embarked upon a quest to learn the music from the tradition bearers, travelling across North America and Europe in the 1980's. His subsequent work has explored and redefined the boundaries of both traditional and early-music genres, forging a synthesis that has been embraced by audiences, scholars, and critics of both schools.
Greg Pattillo - A beatboxingflautist originally from Seattle, Washington but now operates in Brooklyn, New York. He was lauded by The New York Times as "the best person in the world at what he does." His performance videos on YouTube, showcasing "beatbox flute," have been viewed more than 20 million times.
